Frequently asked questions

From when will ePost be available in the Swiss Post app?

From the end of November 2025, you can find your digital letters directly in the Swiss Post app.

Do I have to create a new account?

No. You can log in using your existing ePost login.

I can't log in with my existing ePost login. What do I need to do?

If you have been using a different email address in the ePost app than the one linked to your SwissID, add your SwissID address under Profile → Access management in the ePost app. You will then use this to log in to the Swiss Post app in future. This ensures that your digital inbox is seamlessly transferred to the new app and that you can continue to view all existing documents.

What will happen to my existing documents?

These will continue to be available to you in the Swiss Post app. Or you can view and use your documents in the ePost app as usual until the end of March.

Will my mail still be secure?

Yes. The Swiss Post app complies with the highest standards of data protection and is operated entirely in Switzerland.

I already use the Swiss Post app – do I have to take any action?

In general, no. Update the Swiss Post app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store from the end of November. Your ePost will then be automatically integrated into the Swiss Post app.

How do I enable automatic updates for my apps?

To ensure that you can access your digital mail in the new Swiss Post app from the end of November, please follow these steps:

iOS: Settings → App Store → Activate App Updates

Android: Open Play Store → Profile icon → Settings → Network settings → Automatically update apps

If automatic updates are not activated, you can also update the Swiss Post app manually.

What do I need to consider when using ePost Communities?

With the move, the existing chat rooms will be discontinued in ePost Communities and not transferred to the Swiss Post app. If you’ve created or used chats, you can export their content until 16 November.

To export your chat histories in the ePost app:

  1. Open the ePost app
  2. Click on Communities in the menu at the bottom
  3. Select chat room
  4. Click on the name of the chat room at the top
  5. Select and save the ‘Export chat’ button
  6. Repeat the process if you have more than one chat room

After the move, you will be able to open and use new chat rooms in the Swiss Post app.

Until when will the ePost app be available?

The ePost app will remain active until the end of March 2026 and will then be retired.
